Homemade Brightening Face Scrub: Warm and Spicy

So I promised a homemade face mask post, but I realized that I had too many recipes for just one post. I decided to just post one or two, but spread out. They’re all super easy because who wants to be spending any more than 10 minutes making a face mask :/ No one. So enjoy ❤

Warm and Spicy is one of my favorite homemade masks. Yes, I made up the recipe and the name, haha.

Here’s what Warm and Spicy will do for your skin:

  1. Brighten
  2. Clean
  3. Exfoliate
  4. Tone Evening

List of what you’ll need:

  1. Sugar
  2. Cinnamon
  3. Nutmeg
  4. Honey
  5. Lemon juice

Step One

Just a teaspoon and a half of sugar into a small bowl of your choosing.

Step Two
Just a sprinkle of nutmeg. Nutmeg is a curative so you won’t want to skip on this part. It heals acne scars, sun spots and dark spots. It also uncloggs pores!

Step Three
Add about three shakes of cinnamon. You may be asking “why cinnamon?” Cinnamon has so many benefits for skin and hair that many people don’t realize. If you have pimples, dry skin or eczema (I have all 3) cinnamon in facemasks or cinnamon oil helps with that aspect.

Step Four

One tablespoon of honey. You can also add more if you do not need as much exfoliation. Or less if you like more of a scruby mask. Honey is great for brightening and skin tone evening.

Step Five
Add just a teaspoon of lemon juice which will brighten anything the honey won’t. It also will clean your skin really well. (I hate this step because the lemon juice makes the mask smell like a really weird combination. But I assure you, lemons are great for your skin).

You’ll want to scrub your face gently in small circles and then let it sit for about 20-25 minutes. When time is up, wipe off with a warm rag then splash your face with water to make sure you got all the sugar granules off. Moisturize and repeat atleast once a week before you apply makeup!

As you can see here, there’s enough for 2 applications. I always make more than I need because I like to keep adding as I’m waiting for my first layer to dry.
