Take a look inside my vinyl collection

I’ve been collecting vinyls for a while and they are my favorite things to listen to and look at. Here are some of my favorites from my collection:

Pink Floyd, definitely a classic.
This is my favorite Fleetwood Mac album, I just love the rustic sound.

I grew up on Sting and the Police so this album stirs up a lot of great childhood memories.

Halsey’s Badlands is one of my more recent purchases and it’s definitely one of my favorites.

I love the pink marble color for Halsey’s vinyl.
This is another one of my recent purchases. I’ve been looking for a Glass Animal’s Zaba vinyl for a while and I found one at my local record shop.

I love Lana del Rey’s Honeymoon vinyl. Her picture book is pure art.

This Hundred Waters vinyl is one of my favorites. It’s really unique hearing electronic music on a record player. The cover art is absolutely amazing. The front is a sunrise and the back is a sunset.

Photoshoot with Lindsey (Camera Linds Photography)

I’m so excited to share these photos with you guys! Lindsey is super creative and that’s why I think she’s such a great photographer (one of the best I know). She wanted this shoot to be very bohemian based and of course, that’s right up my alley so of course I was interested! Lindsey found this great idea called flower tattoos which we tried and they turned out beautifully! I’ll be posting a how to for those very soon so stay posted. So if you love these photos, please check out Lindsey’s other work on her website: Camera Linds Photography and her instagram: @lindseyremy ❤️

I’m still obsessed with these flower tattoos, can’t wait to show you guys how we did it!

Love this one, took a couple tries, but turned out beautifully.

The candids are my favorites ❤️

You can only see one deer here, but there was a small pack. They were so close!

Probably my favorite. I love that you can see my henna!

Shopping online done easy – affordable and just in time for spring!

Me when I’m waiting for a package! lol

Anytime I shop online, the first thing I look for — before even looking at the products is promotions. Promotions can really make your purchase cheaper, sometimes all you have to do is enter a code or your email when you check out!

The next thing I look for is a “sale” page. Most people avoid it because they think the clothing is not as up to date as other pages like “newest releases.” Well, the “sale” page is how you save money. Many sale pages for clothing websites have products from the last newest release line which means it’s only less than a month old! Which means it’s still stylish! Yes, it’s possible to find something really ridiculous and very out of date in the sales pages, but don’t let it discourage you from getting a great, cute deal.

So what I did was “shopped” for you. I shopped from 3 different online stores: forever21, charlotte russe, and h&m. All the items I chose are affordable and make great outfits. Enjoy!

Under $50 outfit

Forever 21 for $10.90 (sale)

Forever 21 for $29.90

Under $35 outfit

From H&M for $15 (sale)

From H&M for $9.99 (sale)

From Charlotte Russe $12.99 each

Under $60 outfit

From H&M for $14.99 (sale)
From H&M for $14.99 (sale)

From Forever 21 for $19.90

These outfits are perfect to bring in spring with!

Which combination is your favorite?

Get the spring look: Dos and Don’ts

I’m so happy it’s spring. You know what that means? Bright colors, new hair, flowers. Those who fell into the winter and fall trance of matte dark lipsticks, dark colored eyeshadow and pale skin — fear no more, it’s time to get bold.

Please do:

  • Get out that bold red lipstick. Might as well pull out your pinks and corals  too. Sephora’s liquid lipstick has some of the brightest spring colors around.
  • Shop spring lines. Forever 21 and Kendall and Kylie’s line are affordable and bring out the latest and most stylish spring trends.
  • Try a new hair color. If you’re feeling bold enough, go blonde, pink, or even try grey like me!
  • Paint your nails. Use yellows, pastel pinks, whites, greys and coffee colored polishes. These are the most popular colors this spring.
  • Use bright colored eyeshadow. I’m not the only one who’s been not using certain colors on my palette. This spring is the perfect time to experiment with some brighter colors. Blue and gold have been popular bright colors, try them out. You’ll be shocked!
  • Moisturize. The weather’s getting warmer, make sure you have a good face lotion. Also, oil serums have been trending. I use Korres Rose Brightening oil serum to even and brighten my skin. I just mix it with my foundation and my face feels hydrated.
  • Hike, go for a walk. It’s the perfect weather to do so. Breathe in the freshest air of spring, it’s good for you!

Please Don’t:

  • Over do makeup. Yes, bright colors are in this spring, but if you use a bold lip color and eyeshadow and do heavy highlighter, that’s not as in. Try using a bold lip and light eye makeup or a bold eye and a nude rosey or mauve colored lipstick.
  • Spend all your time inside. Watch the flowers bloom, take a nap under the trees, make flower tattoos. Pinterest has some great spring activites and crafts, I’ll let you google “how to make flower tattoos” yourself, they’re sweet.

Need a brightening and tightening face mask? Found the perfect one:

If you know me, you know I love face masks. I love trying new ones all the time! Well, my friend recommended I try TonyMoly’s egg pore masks. This friend is obsessed with a lot of Korean beauty products and said TonyMoly does wonders. I’ve tried TonyMoly’s sheet masks for brightening from Urban Outfitters and it was hydrating and so refreshing. I decided to order one off Amazon.

First of all, how cute is this packaging? Just adorable!

On the inside is the actual mask. The consistency is really interesting. It looks like clay, but feels sort of like a light, whipped merengue. Going on the face, it’s smooth and spreads easily. You can either apply it all over your face or apply it to trouble spots. I used it all over my face and let it dry for 20 minutes and then wiped it off with a warm wash rag.

I’ve used it about 3 times a week for about a month now and I already see results. Others have noticed it too. After application, my skin feels soft and firm. After waiting for the redness to go away from the warm washrag, my skin tone looks bright just after the first application! If that is not miracle work, I don’t know what is!

4.9 out of 5

  • Easily applied
  • Cute packaging
  • Affordable (less than $10 on Amazon)
  • Quick results, noticeable after first couple applications
  • Refreshing and cooling

For your inner creativeness a Lip Gloss set Must-Have: Sephora + Pantone Universe Watercolors

If you’re a color person you’ll love this set! I will warn you: the colors are not as pigmented as they look in their bottles as it is a WATERCOLOR set (meaning the colors are light and watery — like the paints). I really like this set because I don’t wear a lot of crazy colors and because these colors are lighter than normal, it let’s me get away with it. The pigment and consistency is really great! It goes on well, nice and even. It’s quality gloss, people.

The blue is my personal favorite!
I really like this reddish pink one too. This would be more practical for an everyday look.

I was surprised by the orange. It actually looks great! Reminds me of a guava pink and very light orange color.

This one had me a little uneasy. I feel like it would look great on somebody, but not me! I could see someone doing a creative look with it though.
And this is the purple one. I was really impressed by this color, it’s actually really nice looking! Anyone could pull this off!
So you may have noticed that I did not include a picture of the yellow gloss. Well, it didn’t really work out because, well, it just was not feeling my lips and it’s not very pigmented.

3.9 out of 5

  • Great colors, goes on smooth
  • Creative idea
  • A little deceiving
  • It’s on sale now at Sephora and online!

Before you decide to color your hair, read this! Your hair depends on it!!

Coloring your hair at home. So many benefits, but it could also be damaging to your hair if you make a small mistake. Personally, I like to color my hair at home because I hate spending the salon money so I look for easy, foolproof ways to do it myself.

After years of coloring my hair back and forth between blonde, black, brown and even blue once, (yes, I colored the tips of my hair blue like Kylie Jenner) I have found ways to protect your hair and find that right color.

Protecting Your Hair:

  • Coconut oil! It’s always a yes and cheap. You can get coconut oil in its gel form or just regular oil. I really like buying it in gel form because I like melting it myself. So, all you’re going to do with your oil is apply just a small amount to your roots and ends and then comb through. If you do this a week or two every night before you apply color to your hair, it will be less likely for you to experience damage. Please do not learn this the hard way!
  • Avoid heat styling a couple weeks before you color. Hair that has already been broken is almost impossible to repair, don’t make it even more less likely by heat styling and putting color on back to back!
  • Have a hydrating, deep conditioner on hand. I really like Mane N’ Tail, Suave’s Humectant Conditioner and Not Your Mother’s Way to Grow. Use this after coloring and every day after that — FOREVER (:
  • Hair repair masks, even if your hair is not damaged or in need of repair. Putting any kind of color on your hair strips it of many nutrients and applying a mask after rinsing out color will make up for those lost nutrients. The best mask I have come across is Phyto’s Intense Hydrating Brilliance Mask. You can get masks that will do really well too at grocery stores or a beauty store or even make your own!

Choosing the right color and brand:

  • Before buying color, talk with a stylist or an accredited worker at a beauty store and ask about how you think a certain color would look on you — if it’s out of the norm like red, purple, green, blue, etc. Before I colored my tips blue, I talked with a hairstylist who told me that I would love it and that it was trending. When I asked about doing different colored tips, she told me my best bet would be blue. She was completely honest and sometimes another opinion besides your friends’ can be really helpful.
  • The basics: blonde, black and brown. These are the easiest colors to work with and almost fool proof. * If you bleached your hair and want to go back to brown, mix the brown color with a color base of red! If you don’t your hair will, I repeat: WILL turn green. I may or may not know this from experience.
  • Buying color from a grocery store/convenience store or wherever: Revlon’s Soft Black box color has always been my favorite. It’s literally $3 a box and their ColorStay conditioner that comes with it is so great for your hair. I have not used anything else because many will ruin curl patterns and damage hair more than they should because of more chemicals.
  • Make sure you get enough! One box usually is not enough, unless you have really really short hair!

If you’re brave enough to color your own hair at home, keep in mind how to keep your hair healthy in the process. Also, don’t be afraid to try a new color — even if it’s something crazy like bright fire truck red. If you are totally convinced that you love it, that is enough and it will look good. Do your research and compare shades of that color. Look online for people who have the same textured hair as you and see what they look like with the color you want! You’ll definitely be addicted after the first time. I love the feeling of looking slightly different.

Have you ever had a hair color catastrophe?

What color do you absolutely, low-key want to try?

Shopping Tips if you hate spending money + OOTD/Haul: Cheap and cute outfit

Ever walk into a shoe store and immediately lay your eyes on the most gorgeous set of heels you’ve ever seen? They’re probably about $1000000 right? So you go from crying tears of joy to tears of betrayal putting them down after seeing the price.

This is usually me, but I found the cutest heels at a shoe store in an outdoor mall the other day. I saw the store itself was having a sale so I decided to go take a peek and maybe get a pair of cute shoes for about $15-$20. No. I left that store with a pair of $8.04 gorgeous heels. $8??? I was so ecstatic.

On top of that, I visited Forever 21 the same day and saw they had their “buy one on sale get another on sale for free” going on. I usually never look at these because I expect all of it to be outdated and stuff no one wants, but for some reason I was drawn over there. I ended up finding a really cute brown pair of pants on the sale rack plus another pair! The pants together were $15…15!!! I went on to look for a shirt to match and found a cute crop top to go with them both which was $12. I didn’t break $30 and got two great outfits. So enough of my freaking out and here is the end result:

Tips for cheap shopping if you cry when you spend over $50 like me (:

  • Prepare yourself for sales before you go out. If you know a store is going to close, go there before Victoria’s Secret or Express
  • Coupons! Register for emails and keep up with online or in store promos. Every little bit counts! Sometimes stores will send me deals that many people do not know about.
  • Ask if the store has a rewards system. Sephora is probably one of the best for this, fyi
  • Make a list of what you need and what you want before going out. Sometimes visualizing what you want or writing it down will help you figure out what’s really important or what you actually want.
  • Go straight for the sales racks. I know the new arrivals are tempting but looking at sales racks before will accustom you to lower prices, when you look at sales before the regularly priced items you’ll be less likely to buy more expensive items.
  • Don’t take as much money with you! If you mostly use cash and you know you don’t want to spend over $50, don’t take $100 with you! If you use a debit card or credit card and find yourself spending that easier like me, pull out just what you’re comfortable spending and tell yourself not to use your card unless you have to.

Where is your favorite place to shop?

What is the most you’ve spemt at one time on a shopping trip?

I love hearing from you guys, Let me know!

A review: Tarte’s Tarteist Lipaint

Who else, besides me, is obsessed with liquid lipstick? Okay for me, it’s specifically matte, dark colors. OBSESSED. A couple months ago, I bought Kat Von D’s long-lasting lipstick in Lolita. It was my absolute favorite for a while, but then I needed a new color, but from the same general palette (Idk, I just really like dark purples, browns and nudes. I stay away from all the other colors!). I decided to try Tarte’s new line of liquid lipsticks.

So the lipsticks come in a really cute package. Tarte calls the lipstick “lip paint.” I was a little confused about what “lip paint” was and if I would even like it.

I really like the thin brush on the wand. It helps with precise lining which is really helpful. The consistency is also a lot like a matte liquid lipstick only it goes on really smooth! It takes a little while for it to completely dry, but the color is amazing.

I ordered the colors “tbt” and “manbun.” Tbt is my favorite because I can wear it a lot more often. It’s a nude pinkish color that gives me life. Manbun is a mix of a Vampy red and berry purple. It’s dark and I’m in love with the name and everything about it.

Here’s a quick swatch after a couple minutes of letting both colors dry.

Overall Impression:

  • Colors are vibrant, does not take a lot to fully cover lips
  • A little smaller than I would have expected for $20
  • Fun packaging and creative color names
  • Lasts the whole day
  • 4.5 out of 5

What’s your favorite lipstick? Do you tend to buy similar colors or do you like to diversify your lipstick color collection? I want to know, comment below!
